The Art of Arguing
I feel like I am getting old...but I'm really just getting better. Like wine.....or cheese. Or wine and cheese. What I have discovered is that it is stupid to argue....unless you are a lawyer....because then, you get paid to argue. Profitable arguing makes sense.....arguing with stupid people doesn't.
Ok, so there is no real art to arguing. It does take more than one person for it to happen. There has to be a right and wrong somewhere in there. Healthy debates with valid support for your point make sense. There are a lot of people that don't understand that. Some people just like to hear themselves talk. So what if they were completely wrong. They like to hear themselves use big words incorrectly and out of context because that clearly means you have won the argument. These same people typically think they are being petty, but they are usually just acting like whiny bitches. Yeah, I'm serious. See, pettiness is an art and requires little vocalization. When being petty, you are being brief....exact, to the point, hitting areas of shade any chance you can. Arguing is stupid because there is usually someone trying to say "I am right because blah, blah, blah..." Then there is the back and forth until someone decides to end it. There is usually higher octaves because if you can yell louder, I think that means you are more right.....well, not really.
I have this shit figured out. Don't argue. Pause. Listen. Respond in a calm voice. Briefly state your point once. Never say the same thing again, because these idiots that like to argue....they are never listening to anyone...not even themselves. Oh, smile. If you smile when someone is trying to argue (petty tip), that makes you an automatic winner. Then let them get the last word and just say "ok." Matter of fact, don't say anything after you've gotten your point across unless you want to just get under someone's skin, then say "ok." Man, nothing gets an argumentative person going like "ok." WTF does "ok" mean!!?? It's the proverbial "f*ck you, f*ck your stupid ass point, which is pointless, and hahahaha." My bad, that was a lot of bad language. It's true though. Let people argue with themselves. Especially if there is no benefit for you. I have so much more peace now that I have taken this approach. It's not for everybody...true. It's an art...kinda, sorta....
