Riding and dying

Ride or Die.
Oh, you've heard this term.
It's been used to define relationships and friendships that are supposed to be unbreakable. Meaning you will go to the depths of hell and back for that other person. You're not asking questions, you're just going for the ride because that other person is worth it. You love them just that much. You will ride to the end of the earth and back. Ride until the wheels fall off the car. You both are going down together. You are riding together. Nothing can tear the bond apart. It is you two against the world, no matter what. Ride or Die.

Does this exist? I'm sure it does, but not as loosely as the term is used. I mean, there are riders that will see a shiner car and hop out of yours with the quickness for that new ride. If the ride gets a little bumpy....um, bye, they're gone. Wait, did the ride run out of gas? Bye. Hold, up....did you say die? Matter of fact, it didn't even have to go as far as death. Is that a bruise? Forget that. Where exactly are we going? I know I said I trust you, but just in case.

Are you catching what I'm saying here? The idea and action of loyalty or depth of these relationships is so loosely thrown around. There is a duty and obligation you do have when you sign up to be someone's friend or in a relationship with someone. Some like the idea of the ride, but can't handle it. Do not open the doors for a ride with people if you only plan on test driving then yell out "ride or die." That is false advertisement.

Just thinking. How many people are just test driving with you?
Drop them off where you met them.
